Become a Member of BE IN!
Film has the power to connect, move, and include, but only if everyone has access. BE IN! is a network of film festivals committed to building a more inclusive and accessible film culture across Europe and beyond. We welcome new members who share this mission and want to collaborate, exchange knowledge, and amplify each other’s work.
Why join BE IN!?
- To become part of an active, supportive community of film festivals and cultural actors dedicated to accessibility and inclusion.
- To share and receive knowledge, tools, strategies, and experiences around accessible and inclusive practices.
- To contribute to joint efforts for policy change, inclusive representation, and fairer access to culture.
- To collaborate on joint projects, events, and advocacy initiatives that highlight the importance of accessibility in cultural spaces.
- To promote your work and events through the BE IN! website and communication channels.
- To co-create a film landscape that reflects the diversity of its audiences.
- To strengthen your festival’s international profile and visibility.
Who can join?
Membership is open to film festivals that:
- Have organized at least two editions of a festival or similar event.
- Actively work to increase accessibility and inclusion in film exhibition and engagement.
- Align with BE IN!’s values of solidarity, openness, peer exchange, and accountability.
- Have a working website or social media presence (preferably with content in English).
- Are willing to actively engage in the life of the network.
We welcome organizations of all sizes and geographic regions, especially those underrepresented in European networks.
What’s expected from members?
- Participate in at least one network activity or meeting per year.
- Engage in peer exchange, such as sharing case studies, tools, or learnings.
- Acknowledge BE IN! membership on your festival’s website or promotional materials.
- Contribute to the spirit of openness, transparency, and mutual support.
The fee helps maintain the BE IN! website, facilitate meetings, and fund shared tools and communication.
How to join?
To apply for membership:
- Submit a short written application to join@be-in.info, including:
- A short presentation of your organization and its accessibility work.
- Why you want to join BE IN! and how you hope to contribute.
- Your future plans around accessibility and inclusion.
- Include links to your website or social media, and any recent publications or program materials (e.g., catalogs, access guides, evaluation reports).
Your application will be reviewed by the coordination team. In case of interest, the team will invite you to an online-meeting and will make a final decision afterwards.
